Week 2

Welcome to Week 2 - it is a short week but a busy one.

Swimming lessons take place from 2-2.30pm daily and children need to bring togs and towels on a daily basis.  Please send a note if your child is unwell and you do not wish them to swim.

'Meet the Teacher' is this Wednesday evening from 7-7.30pm.  This is a great opportunity to find out about class programmes, initiatives and expectations.

House Leader elections take place on Wednesday afternoon.  Any Year 6 who wants to be a House leader for 2017 will have the opportunity to share a bit about themselves, their aspirations and talents with the senior team.

Hopefully, all children will have their stationery to start the week so we can set up and utilise our exercise books.

Language
- In reading, we are analysing 'The Iron Man' by  Ted Hughes.  In particular, we are learning to identify language devices.
- In writing, we will be learning to create 'wonder' in opening paragraphs and how and use a range of language devices identified in our reading.
