Recycled Yachts

As a sequel to the optimist yachting experience, Room 6 built their own yacht from recycled materials!

The HAUMOANA CUP took place today in light winds on the small pool.

WEEK 7

Welcome to week 7!

Congrats to Jacob (15th under 18 male) and Scarlett (8th under 18 female)who completed the Lake Taupo Quarter Cycling Challenge on Saturday!  GRIT PLUS!!!

This week we will be continuing with Cycle Safety as part of our Hauroa focus.

Please make sure that bikes are at school all week.

Swimming will take place - weather permitting - so pack togs and towel daily.

Last week notices went home for

• Triathlon champs - next Tuesday
• Coastal Cluster Softball - next Wednesday
• Optimist yachting - next Friday

Bike Safety

Bike safety has been going well with plenty of enthusiasm from all children. Bikes have been used at intervals and lunch times  with obstacle building happening  as well.

Week 5

This week:

In maths: We will be addressing gaps in knowledge as well as looking at 'proportional thinking'.
In language: We will be writing creatively as part of a 'ten-day' writing challenge.


Coming up
Bike safety is our next focus.  All children will need their bikes at school for weeks 6 and 7!

Week 8 - HB Tri Champs, Coastal Cluster Softball and optimist yachting.
